Facebook Live from Dallas, Texas

We’ve been working with BBYO to produce live streams for their International Conference the last several years and we were excited to once again be a part of the 2020 conference in Dallas, TX. Traveling to work this conference is always a highlight, last year we went to Denver, CO. and the year before was Orlando, FL. This year we drove everything in our van, for a total of 2893 miles. All equipment was provided by and owned by Focal Point and we did everything with just 2 crew members!

Along with travel, each year our offerings have grown! We live-streamed for a total of 9 hours. Our goal, was to help our client reach thousands of their stakeholders using Facebook Live and we were very successful.  Live streaming three plenary / general sessions and 4 newscasts helped parents, teens, alumni, donors, and others to follow all the action - live and in real-time. All Facebook live shows had fantastic engagement, reach, and views.  We were proud of the huge success of this event.

Logistics

For this project, we provided a professional broadcast set and news show, once again hosted by teen anchors and reporters. Our 4 live news shows featured interviews and pre-recorded segments.  The news show included 6 cameras, titles, Facebook comment graphics, IFB, teleprompter, a logo bug, 4 microphones, and other helpful features.

We also had several plenary and general sessions. The plenaries included 7 cameras, a logo bug, Facebook comment graphics, titles, video playback, and PowerPoint slides.  The general sessions included musical performances, presentations, panel discussions, awards, and speeches. We covered everything so that no parts of the event were missed!

As far as equipment, everything was centered around our TriCaster TC1 and relied heavily on NDI.  Equipment by Newtek, Atomos, Canon, Teradek, Blackmagic, and several others.

Lastly, we partnered with the Imprint Group and JSAV who helped us to work as a team and accomplish incredible results!
